Discover the wild beauty of East Africa as you embark on exciting tours in scenic locales that include ziplining, quad biking, whitewater rafting, and more. During these seven days, you’ll also hike to thundering waterfalls, tour coffee plantations, and go bungee jumping over the Nile River.
Day 1: Arrive in Uganda via Entebbe international airport.
Welcome to Uganda! This beautiful nation in East Africa offers many nature attractions. It boasts the world’s second-largest freshwater lake Lake Victoria, home to highland ecosystems protecting many species of primates, including the rare mountain gorillas. Its diverse landscapes offer plenty of opportunities for adventure, you are likely to experience more on this adventure.
Arrive in Entebbe, which sits on a peninsula at the north end of Lake Victoria. This city is known for its friendliness and laid-back atmosphere, which you notice upon arrival when meet up the driver. After transferring to the lodge in the city, head out for a self-guided walking tour. Perhaps take a stroll along the lakeshores, go shopping at Victoria Mall, and sample the local cuisine. Try the tastiest fish in the country, Tilapia.
Overnight at the lodge.
In the morning, your driver picks you up for the ride lead East to the lakeside town of Jinja. During the trip, travel inland for a stopover at the Mabira Forest Covering 120 square miles (300 sq km), this is Uganda’s largest surviving natural rainforest. Comprising this ecosystem are over 300 tree species that are a habitat for butterflies, primates, mammals, and exotic birds like ibises and cormorants.
Instead of than a nature hike, though, spend time in the forest enjoying a fun zipline adventure. Upon arrival at the activities camp, you shall a get briefing and safety equipments provided by the Allied car hire and transportation guides. Then soar over the rainforest canopy on a network of five ziplines that stretch 820 feet (250 m) across theRiver Musamya. As you fly across the treetops, keep an eye out for forest-dwelling mammals such as grey-cheeked mangabeys and red-tailed monkeys.
After the zipline, move to Jinja, whose location is at the source of the Nile River. Board a boat for a scenic ride down this legendary waterway that finishes at a plaque commemorating where the world’s longest river begins its 4,000-mile (6,437 km) journey to the Mediterranean. Afterward, take a guided tour around Jinja to know more about the history of this charming colonial town and visit the local craft markets to pick up some souvenirs.
Day 3: Full-Day water Rafting on the Nile.
After breakfast, drive for a full-day whitewater rafting experience. It begins with a transfer by vehicle up the banks of the Nile to the headquarters of Raft Uganda. receive a safety briefing and receive your life jacket and helmet. Then, along with the rafting guide, proceed to the put-in for the thrilling whitewater rapids.
After a brief tutorial, head out on the river following the Nile north for 13 miles (21 km). Along the way, pass over thrilling Class IV and V rapids. (This adventure isn’t for the faint of heart) but there’s nothing to worry about—throughout the ride a rescue team on kayaks follows your raft. Reach the end of the route, where a delicious meal with beer and soft drinks awaits. After the meal, Transfer by vehicle back to Jinja.
In the morning, embark on more adventure activities on land and air. First up is off-road excursion on quads. follow the route to remote areas outside of Jinja along the Nile. During this scenic ride, we pass through the rural villages, forests, and sugar cane plantations as we enjoy the stunning river scenery.
After the quad adventure, enjoy another exciting river activity over the Nile. Along with the guide, transfer to a bungee platform that rises 141 feet (43 m) over the water and strap into a harness. Choose either to jump with the bungee tied to your ankles or around your waist. Whatever you decide, try not to look down before you make the leap. Once you do leave the platform, soar through the air in one of the most exciting activities on the planet.
Meet the guide in the morning and drive East to the town of Kapchorwa, located near the border with Kenya. This scenic drive takes you past stunning areas like the Busitema Forest Reserve, stop and see the resident baboons. Another highlight of the trip is a stop just before Kapchorwa at the great Sipi Falls. A hike through the forest leads to these falls, which plunge 328 feet (100 m) over a mountain into a lagoon.
Returned from the falls, transfer to a cave outside of Kapchorwa, where we meet a group of Sebei people. The Sebei are an ethnic group and the ancestral inhabitants of Eastern Uganda. During this cultural experience in the cave, meet the tribespeople, learn about their customs, hear some campfire storytelling, and listen to their traditional songs. You can even join in their dances and try some authentic warrior snacks. Afterward, continue on to Kapchorwa and arrive at your hotel in time for dinner.
Put on the hiking boots because this morning we head outside of Kapchorwa for a full-day trekking tour around the region’s most stunning locals. This trekking begins with a guided countryside walk through local villages and amid banana plantations. Eventually, you’ll arrive at a local coffee farm and homestead. Coffee is Uganda’s largest export crop, and most of the beans are cultivated by small-holding farmers like your host. After a tour of the fields, sit down with the hosts for a delicious lunch washed down with a cup of joe.
Afterward, head back to the Sipi Falls area and embark on a hike at the base of Mount Elgon. This time, visit Sipi two other falls in the rainforest as well. Simba Falls is 242 feet (74 m) high and is located in an ancient cave where humans lived for hundreds of years. Continue up toNgasire, the tallest waterfall at 278 feet (85 m). Here, there are great viewpoints looking out over Mount Elgon, Lake Kyoga, and the Karamoja Plains. The hike to all three falls is about 4 miles (7 km) in total and involves steep ascents. Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe and departure
