FACTS ABOUT DANCES IN UGANDA.

These instrument means a lot and they make different sounds, the sounds which is made or sounded differently in a dance can be for a different occasion in the cultural. And this is the one of the known dances in the Baganda and the following information about the instrument;

The bakisimba is a traditional dance for the Buganda, which is also enjoyed by the tourists who come for safaris to Uganda. It originated from the former Kabaka (King’s) senerial which occurred on a party. The King on the party drunk local beer Known as Tonto derived from the Luganda word called tontomera.

The Drums.

 In Uganda, the drum announces joy and sorrow, the birth of twins, and mourning the dead; and it is also through the drum that the people get connected to their ancestors through spiritual worship. Most important, the drum symbolizes the kingdom as well as the power of kingship.

The Bowl lyre.

The Bowl Lyre music and dance is one of the oldest cultural practices of the people of Uganda. The traditional songs and dances, performed for various occasions, including weddings and to celebrate harvests, are a tool for strengthening family ties and learning about community culture. This sound box is a stretched resonant membrane made of antelope skin, tied to a piece of hide at the bottom of the box.

The Flute.

The flute is a member of a family of musical instruments in the in Uganda woodwind group. Like all woodwinds, flutes are aero phones, producing sound with a vibrating column of air. Unlike woodwind instruments with reeds, a flute produces sound when the player’s air flows across an opening. And is known as endere in the Baganda, omukuli in the Banyankole, the Basoga can be easily called the masters of the flute and is known as endere as the Baganda.

The trumpet.

In Africa/Uganda, music instrument is most valued the most impotent act is to show happiness, in the process of showing happiness we use the trumpet. An Africa/Uganda a horn trumpet is mad from the horns of any animal such as elephant tusks or a cow horn. They are side blown in impressive one note blasts and are used to convey messages, to announce arrivals or proceedings, as well as for musical events.
